5 (AMAZING) Skin-Supporting Summer Popsicles

Although back to school time seems to have infiltrated its way into August, let’s not forget that we are still in the prime heat of Summer! Trying to stay cool by the pool, after school, or hanging out in the yard can be tricky. We have put together a list of 5 super simple and super skin-healthy popsicles to keep your Summer chill and refreshing through August and beyond.

  1. Hibiscus and Mint Cooler

This popsicle is an explosion of refreshment. While it is the least sweet on our list, don’t let that deter you from making these bad boys! All you need to prep is some hibiscus tea. After you brew it, throw it in the fridge for an hour or so and let it cool. In a blender, combine the tea with some fresh mint leaves and coconut water. Blend it up and pour into your popsicle molds. Pop them in the freezer and you’ll have a cool, refreshing, hydrating delight in a few hours.

*Pro Tip: Can add a spoonful of honey or maple syrup to add a touch of sweetness

Skin Benefits: Hibiscus is loaded with antioxidants which can help reduce wrinkles, aging, sagging, and dark spots on your skin. Coconut water has a very high amount of electrolytes which in return will assist your body and skin to stay hydrated during these warm, Summer days.

  1. Berry-licious Pop

Summer is all about the berries. This popsicle combines any and all of your favorite Summer berries ( I used a combination of blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries) with a touch of zesty lemon juice, and a spoonful of plain greek yogurt. Throw all of these ingredients into the blender, add some water, and blend. Pour into your popsicle molds, and put in the freezer for a berry-licious treat.

Skin Benefits: Berries, specifically blueberries, contain a high amount of antioxidants. Berries will help control free radicals, resulting in reducing sun damage and wrinkles. Plain greek yogurt offers gut-friendly probiotics to help support the health of the gut’s microbiome, a healthy gut = healthy skin!

  1. Mango-a-go-go

There is nothing better than a big, juicy, mango on a hot Summer day. Okay well maybe there is one thing better, our Mango-a-go-go pop. In a blender combine fresh or frozen mango, plain greek yogurt, and coconut water. Pour into your popsicle mold, let freeze, and VOILA! This is the perfect poolside treat to hydrate and keep you feeling nice and cool at the same time.

Skin Benefits: Mangos are full of nutrients that help protect your body from cellular damage, mangoes also have tons of skin-supportive enzymes and vitamins that help both topically and when consumed. Plain greek yogurt offers gut-friendly probiotics to help support the health of the gut’s microbiome, a healthy gut = healthy skin!

  1. Pina Colada

This is a fan favorite in our household, and one of the easiest to make! Use fresh or frozen pineapple and blend with some coconut milk and coconut water. When this freezes in the mold and you take your first taste, you will be transported to a warm beach in the tropics.

*Pro Tip: Add a pinch of cinnamon for a little extra YUM, and blend in some unsweetened coconut shreds if you want a little texture in your pop

Skin Benefits: Pineapples are an undercover superstar when it comes to skin care and a healthy complexion. Pineapples can help reduce inflammation, even out skin tone, reduce sun damage, and fight aging, among other benefits. The coconut water is full of electrolytes and is super hydrating, especially on those hot summer days!

  1. Cherry Lime Coconut Pop

Our final pop is bursting with cherries, which consequently will leave you and your skin feeling rejuvenated. For this popsicle, blend cherries (we used frozen), fresh lime juice, and coconut water to thin out the mixture. Pour the mixture into the molds and freeze to enjoy.

Skin Benefits: Cherries are jam-packed with antioxidants, which as we know, help slow down skin-aging. Cherries can also help calm any inflammation in your complexion. Limes are Vitamin-C bombs. Vitamin C helps your skin produce collagen to promote plump and firm skin.

We are hoping you will enjoy these skin-healthy, rejuvenating popsicles as much as we do! Stay cool my friends!
