Why Lip Balm is Important

Why Lip Balm is Important

We all love applying different lip treatments, but have you ever wondered what’s the point? Here are three reasons why wearing lip balm every day is important:

  1. The skin on your lips is thinner than the skin on the rest of your face (similar to around your eyes).
  2. The skin on your lips doesn’t have hair follicles to protect it. The only other places on your skin without hair follicles are the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet.
  3. Your lips don’t have any sebaceous glands. Sebaceous glands keep your skin moisturized by producing sebum. This is why without a little help from a natural lip balm or otherwise, lips tend to get dry or chapped without any help.

Our clean, all natural lip balm is made from extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, red raspberry seed oil, and essential oils. These natural ingredients will help to moisturize and protect the thin skin on your lips. We also recommend using a lip SPF if you plan on spending an extended period of time in the sun.
